 1) What kind of warranty does CBM offer on its products?

CBM offers limited lifetime warranty on all its horizontal and vertical blinds. Additional information is available in CBM Limited Lifetime Warranty Agreement.

 2) How do I measure for an Inside/Outside mount?

 Inside Mount (IB)
1. Measure the width inside the window opening at the top, middle and bottom. The top measurement is critical because the headrail must fit! Record the actual dimension of the shortest width to the nearest one eighth of an inch.
2. Measure the height inside the window opening at left, right and center. Record the actual dimension of the shortest height to the nearest one eighth of an inch. Also measure the window on its diagonals. If the two diagonal dimensions are not exactly the same, it may be necessary to specify an outside mount for optimal fit, light control and privacy.
3. The ordered width should ensure a precise fit for the headrail and allow proper operation of the shade. If widths in the window vary, order the minimum width if necessary to allow the shade to raise and lower properly.
4. The ordered height should ensure clean operation at the base of the window as well as provide maximum privacy and light control.
5. Be sure the window opening is deep enough to install the mounting bracket.
 Outside Mount (OB)
1. Measure the desired width and height. To minimize light leakage, the shade should overlap the window opening at least 2" on each side and at the bottom.
2. When measuring the height, take into account the requirements for mounting the bracket attachment.

3) What is an exact mount (vertical blinds/roller shades)?

An exact mount is an inside mount, measured exactly the same way but in case of exact mount, CBM does not take any deductions. We assume that deductions were already taken by our dealer if exact mount option is selected or checked off on the vertical blinds or roller shades order form, located in the forms section.

4) Why does CBM take deductions for an inside mount?

Standard deductions are taken on an inside mount to allow for the product to operate properly inside the window opening without making it too tight to fit.

5) How do I get my product repaired?

If you are a consumer, please contact the dealer your originally purchased the product from. If you are a CBM dealer then please contact our head office to obtain a RMA number and schedule for pickup.

6) How do I order replacement parts?

Consumers, please contact your dealer. If you are a CBM dealer please contact customer service who will be most happy to assist you.

7) Where can I get colour samples?

All authorized CBM dealers have CBM colour samples/slat packs, to find a dealer in your area please contact our head office. If you are a dealer and don't have a CBM sample pack please contact our customer service to have one sent out to you.

8) Why aren't the colour samples available on the website?

Colour reproduction depends on the type of hardware and software or a combination of both the user has installed on his/her workstation or computer, therefore different configurations can display an entirely different colour on the screen than what is actually seen with native eye. Also, its very hard to reproduce the exact colour in digital format, due to the nature of the material used for window coverings.

9) Does CBM offer motorization on all its treatments?

Somfy™ AC powered & Wirefree (battery powered) RTS/IR systems for Roller Shades are available. We also offer tilt only motors for our horizontal blinds. The system used is cordless, is completely hidden and runs off batteries. An AC power outlet, therefore is not needed.

10) What is the average battery life on motorized systems?

Battery life depends on usage and generally varies from three months to one year.

11) What is the warranty on motors and remote controls for motorized systems?

The warranty on all motors and remote controls is five years. Please contact our customer service for replacement of defective motors.

12) Does Canadian Blind Mfg. sell directly to customers?

CBM does not sell directly to customers, however if you are interested in our product line, you can contact our customer service and they will direct you to your nearby CBM dealer.

13) How can I get an actual sample of your product?

You can contact your local CBM dealer and they can provide you an actual sample, you can also visit their showrooms or they can accompany you to our head office and showroom located in Richmond, BC.
